My final project was inspired by moonlight through trees. The luminair is made out of hot glue, blue acetate, and blue vellum. The process of making the structure consisted of filling a cookie sheet with water and pouring the hot glue over it in a swirly pattern until it was thick enough to stand. I then folded the structure into a cylinder and glued the edges together. After that I folded the acetate to fit inside the cylinder then sealed off the ends with circular pieces of glue and added the light.
My project is made out of hot glue, poured over water. When the glue hits the water it cools it very quickly causing it to be very flexible. Then I folded it into a cylinder and closed it with hot glue.
This assignment was to pick a special object and to then make a container for it. My special object is a ring that I made in my high school jewelry class. I designed the box so that it would enhance the ring and give it a special holding place.
